The film is a prequel to the 2003 original. In this action movie, a Thai man goes on a martial-arts rampage in 15th-century Thailand in order to get revenge on the people who murdered his family. This film has received less positive reviews, with critics saying the Ong Bak 2 is better. After recovering from his injuries, he returns to get revenge on another villain. In this sequel, Tien is captured by a warlord but then escapes. But it was financially successful enough to spawn another sequel, Ong Bak 3. The film received mixed reviews from professional critics. When Tien grows up, he goes on a lone mission of vengeance against the slave traders and the treacherous warlord who killed his family. Chernang takes Tien under his wing and realizes unsurpassed physical potential in the boy by training him in all the different types of Asian martial arts. At first, Tien is taught to dance, which he doesn't like. Captured and sold into slavery, Tien is saved from death by Chernang, the leader of the Pha Beek Khrut, a group of martial artists specializing in various Asian combat styles.
